Jamie Sydoriak tells a UConn student about Joshua’s Trust membership

Joshua’s Trust participated in the University of Connecticut’s 2015 Earth Day Spring Fling held on Wednesday, April 22nd, on Earth Day. The Earth Day Spring Fling is an annual celebration of sustainability co-sponsored by UConn’s Office of Environmental Policy, Department of Dining Services, EcoHusky Student Group, and EcoHouse Learning Community. Every Earth Day since 2008, this festival has featured organic and local foods, eco-friendly vendors, green companies, and student groups that join together to raise environmental awareness. Sustainability was the key theme for this year’s event.

Joshua’s Trust informational booth was one of many set up on Fairfield Way on Wednesday, near the Homer Babbidge Library. The Trust’s Conservation and Communications Coordinator, Jamie Sydoriak, spoke to many UConn undergraduate and graduate students, Professors, and visitors who walked along Fairfield Way to learn more about local products and options. It was a windy day, but a lot of fun, and many people were interested in Trust membership brochures.  Quite a few signed up to volunteer or learn more about Trust projects!  Joshua’s Trust looks forward to attending this event again in the future.
