Nature, Science and Environment Book Club -- 2nd book!
Event type: Event
November 5, 2017, 3:30 pm
After getting off to an encouraging start in October, the Joshua's Trust Nature, Science and Environment Book Club will undertake its second book Nov. 5.
This month's selection is "The Invention of Nature" by Andrea Wulf.
It's the story of German naturalist and adventurer Alexander von Humboldt and how he influenced the way we understand nature today.
The club plans to meet mostly on the first Sunday of each month (except April). This month's meeting is at 3:30 p.m. at the Trust's headquarters: Atwood Farm, 624 Wormwood Hill Road in Mansfield. This session is, pardon the pun, booked up, so...
NOTE: The NSE Book Club is proving so popular that organizers Robert and Kristine Thorson are setting up a second group that will meet on the second Sunday of each month beginning Nov. 12. This new group's first book will be "The Stranger In The Woods. The Extraordinary Story of the Last True Hermit."
Those interested in attending should contact Kristine Thorson through email or at 860-748-1967 with text or voice messages.
