Whetten Woods was a gift of the Whetten family.  The trail leads through a forested area with rolling terrain, stone walls and a band of wetlands through the center. There is a small parking area on Hanks Hill Road.  There also is a Joshua’s Trust sign at the Hope Lutheran Church on Dog Lane, and a connecting trail through church property.

Preserved: Initial gift in 1998. In 2009, a gift from the Clark family added five acres. Eight acres were added in 2015.

Directions: Parking area on Hanks Hill Road, 0.4 miles east of Rte. 195 in Storrs. Additional access from Hope Lutheran Church on Dog Lane, 0.3 miles from Rte. 195. Alternate access is from the athletic field parking lot near the post office in downtown Storrs.
