Wednesday Walk at Chenes Roches Preserve

Join us at the Chenes Roches Preserve in Willington, CT
The heavily-forested Preserve has trails through a varied terrain of hardwood forests, stands of pines and along a hemlock-shaded stream in a steep-sided valley. A round trip of 1.8 miles will take you across several small spring-fed streams and an altitude change of about 250 feet from the parking lot to the valley stream. For this walk we will start at the trail head and follow the yellow trail, counterclockwise, then pick up the red trail down into the valley then turn around to meet the yellow trail again for the ascent. We will not be walking the blue loop this week.

The walk begins at 8:00 a.m. and will be cancelled in the event of rain. Bring water, bug spray or net, and appropriate hiking gear as needed.
I will post on Instagram and Facebook as well as this page if we decide to cancel the walk due to weather or other, unforeseeable circumstances.
