About the Property
John Löf was known for his generosity to the community. In 2009 he donated this beautiful 18-acre parcel to Joshua’s Trust.
For thirty years, when he wasn’t teaching electrical engineering at UConn or running the Computer Center, he tapped maple trees on the property and tended his garden, while his wife Ruth operated a bird-banding station, where she banded over 10,000 birds.
The property features a mature mixed hardwood forest with some majestic oaks measuring over 20 inches in diameter. The half-mile trail is level and mostly dry, appropriate for cross-country skiing as well as a pleasant woodland walk.
