You may have seen our notices about the 54th Annual Meeting. With that you may have seen something about members being able to vote. If you are new to Joshua’s Trust, you might be wondering what a member is and why you might want to become one.
So, simply put, a member of Joshua’s Trust is anyone who has given a dollar or more to Joshua’s Trust in the past year. For example, if you gave $20 on August 12, 2020 you would be considered a member until August 12, 2021. Members are able to vote at the annual meeting on the appointment of Trustees and other Trust business.
Why should you become a member? Membership with Joshua’s Trust means that you are agreeing to support the work of Joshua’s Trust to protect and preserve land in your community. We rely on the support of community members to acquire new properties, protect and maintain the properties we are currently responsible for, and to provide programming and education about conservation.
By making a donation and becoming a member of Joshua’s Trust, you are serving your community. If the recent pandemic has shown us anything, it is just how much our community is healthier and happier because of the open spaces we have to enjoy. Your donation ensures that our community has places for people to walk, explore, meditate, create art, learn, and spend time with family and friends.
While we appreciate monetary donations and they make you an official member of Joshua’s Trust, we know that not everyone has money to spare. We are also supported by a large group of volunteers who we would not be able to continue without. We would love it if you considered becoming a volunteer!
